Accreditation Manager Training

The Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Program follows a progressive and time-proven way of helping law enforcement agencies calculate and improve their overall performances. Participating agencies conduct a thorough self-analysis to determine how existing operations can be adapted to meet these objectives. When the procedures are in place, a team of trained assessors verifies that applicable standards have been successfully implemented.

 

One of the first steps in the process is the appointment of the Accreditation Manager (AM). The new Accreditation Manager will need training in some new skills important to the agency’s and the AM’s success.  The training will familiarize the new AM in the following areas:

 

·         History of the Law Enforcement accreditation process

·         Benefits and Goals of the Accreditation Program

·         Overview of the Michigan LE Accreditation Program

·         The Michigan Standards

·         Proofs of Compliance

·         Creating the Files

·         The Mock On-site and the MLEAC On-site

·         Maintaining Compliance

 

This training will provide a forum for asking questions, as well as meeting others being appointed to the AM position, creating a peer-to-peer network.  Newly appointed AM’s are encouraged to attend this beneficial session as they begin the accreditation process.
