POLICE CHIEF CITY of MIDLAND, MI Police Chief - City of Midland, MI (population 41,685), a full-service municipality in mid-Michigan seeks experienced Police Chief to lead a 52 employee, $7.5 M budget Department in service to a vibrant, growing community. Appointed by the City Manager; is an active member of City’s top management team. Strong leadership, management, communications, labor relations/collective bargaining and interpersonal skills with degree(s) or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police / public administration, public policy, business administration, or related field is required. Master’s degree or similar advanced degree is preferred. Have 7-10 years of significant and increasingly responsible law enforcement management experience as a Chief, Deputy Chief, or a member of the command staff of a law enforcement organization. Salary range: $87,600 - $103,000 negotiable, DOQE. The ideal candidate will be MCOLES certified, with 10 years law enforcement experience and at least 5 years as a command officer.
