Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police Presents POLICE CHIEFS “TAKING CHARGE” January 7 -9, 2009 and January 12 – 14, 2009 MACP is offering the “gold standard” in police training: Police Chiefs – Taking Charge! This program is for chiefs with less than two years on the job, chiefs who have come to Michigan from other states, and chiefs who have not had this type of training. Assistant and Deputy Chiefs and 2nd in Command Executives are also invited to attend. The average rating for this program in 2008 was 4.9+ on a 5.0 scale. Great class PROGRAM INFORMATION Major Topics: Laws Governing Chiefs’ Behavior; Establishing the Ethical Framework for the Department; Conducting the Department Audit; Executive Strategies for “Taking Charge”; Financial Management; Labor Relations; Personnel Issues; Politics and the Chief. Dates and Location: The program will be held January 7-9 and 12-14, 2009, at the Okemos Conference Center, 2187 University Park Drive, Okemos, Michigan 48864 (517) 347-6690. Cost: Tuition for all 6 days of training is $1,200.00 and includes all professional instruction, materials, break refreshments and the graduation dinner. Travel, meals and lodging are the responsibility of the participant. All costs may be covered under P.A. 301-302 60% funds. This program is MCOLES approved.
